Exactly! I'd almost prefer they just say "hey, we're raising ticket prices, sorry" than to frame it as a convenience to the audience, which anyone who's ever boarded a plane can tell you it definitely isn't
This was news to me, and I agree it's kind of wild - the movie theater is the last equalizer. Also sad how effective this will be in the short term: for how infrequently I can manage to go to the movies, I will of course pay the extra $2 - I hate it.

I sure hope it's not the end end! It's not inconceivable to me that enough vocal pushback gets AMC to reconsider. But in the meantime, yes, short their stocks, do whatever -- make them work for you.
